Another good Schooling Day

More great reports from the farm today from Brad.  He is so impressed with the Elbony Isambard pups!

"Detour" (September pup by Dainty Wag) ran his first full race today out of the long box and clocked a 32.80 which is VERY fast!  He easily beat two other greyhounds that have been out of the long box about 10-12 times.  The fastest time of the day was 32.11, so Detour's time was only about 7 lengths off.  Brad said that this boy is ready to work when you get him out of the kennel....he's all business.

Elbony Isambard's pups like to take the lead early and have impressive backstretch speed.  Also, Brad reiterated how they are very difficult to pull off of the lure when you catch them!  Something he didn't have to worry about with Dainty Wag's Whistler litter. (which produced Oban Laria)

"Jordan" who is "Detour's" sister, also ran a very good race today and won again.  She exploded from the boxes and was gone in her race running a 24.80 which is also very fast.

"Lily" who is an Elbony Isambard pup by Move On Bev fishished 2nd in her race, but by a very nice OLDER dog....Highwind Striker who is back to the farm from Derby Lane.  She was only beat by 1 length and at one point, Brad thought she was going to catch him!

The rest of the Elbony Isambard pups from these litters are working in the field for the last time tomorrow before starting their whirlygig and handslip training.

Three of the Flying Penskes out of Elbony Falcao will be worked in the field tomorrow with the lure and the rest will follow on Monday.  "Fran Gogh" ran in the field for the first time earlier this week and did great.  Brad is confident that this will be an easy litter to train.

Elbony Falcao appears to be off of her feed which means she may be pregnant to Gable Dodge!

News from the Farm

Elbony Isambard's first crop of pups are doing well in training.

"Jordan" (Elbony Isambard x Dainty Wag) won impressively at the training track winning by 12 lengths  in 33.31 for her 2nd time around full-distance.  Brad was very happy with how she handled herself.  She took the turns very well and chased hard.

"Lilly" (Elbony Isambard x Move On Bev) ran 3rd in 33.04 to one of the fastest pups on the farm.  This was her 3rd time over the full-distance and was a good peformance.

Thre rest of the Dainty Wag litter is showing well in the field.  All 5 males chase hard and are big, stout boys.

Brad likes his litter out of "Dr Tornado" enough to want to repeat the breeding.  He said all of his pups are bold and nasty.  They are natural-born chasers....

Ashfield is going to RaceForAdoption for Heart of Texas Greyhound Adoption in San Antonio, Texas.  We look forward to providing updates on this boy for the group as they are very excited to see him grow!

News from the Farm

We received a few pictures tonight of the pups on the farm.

The only male from the Fuzzys Cannon - Dreamy Ocean litter.  We think this is going to be a great litter because Ocean is by Twilite Dreamon, the dam of WW Time Warp.  Time Warp's sire was Minaki Zeke, the same as Cannon.  Cannon was a fantastic racer at the tough St. Pete circuit.  He won the 2005 Derby Lane Matinee Idol:

Fuzzys Cannon (Minaki Zeke - Greys Betsy Ross) winning the 2005 Matinee Idol.  Cannon's dam, Betsy Ross was a fantastic racer herself.  She won the 1998 Derby Lane Distance Classic and was All-American in 1998.

 

These are the 3 girls in the Fuzzys Cannon - Dreamy Ocean litter.  They are beauties!

This is our prize puppy -- the blue male from the Elbony Isambard - Oban Sirine (Malawis Prince - Greys Front Page) litter.  The litter of 7 was whelped on September 27th.  There are 6 boys and 1 girl in this litter.  Elbony Isambard loves to produce the boys!  We will be looking for a good name for this boy.  We are very excited about this litter, which is Sirine's first.  She is doing fantastic with her pups.

Puppy Update

Great news from Oklahoma -- Brad has just purchased a camera phone so he will be able to shoot some pictures of the hounds. 

He was testing it out yesterday, and realized there are 3 different picture sizes available on his camera.  This is the smallest size, so he has enlarged and is going to take some more.

The pictures he is going to send are much bigger than this, so we look forward to seeing more photogenic hounds!

Puppies are great!

The Flying Penske - Dainty Wag litter has been tattooed and Brad has told us how fiesty some of the pups are.  One male is the worst pup he's ever had to tattoo....so hopefully this is a good sign.

The dogs racing at Flagler have been off for several days recovering from the recent hurricane damage in the Miami area.  The power was off in 1/2 of the kennel buildings until 2 days ago and they had to cancel the racing.
