Hurricane Update

We are recovering from a pretty serious hurricane in South Florida. All of the dogs are doing fine, but there are over 3.5 million people without power in these areas. Rosnet2000.com is down and we are not able to see the latest results. Racing was cancelled at Palm Beach today due to the weather as I'm sure Flagler and Naples was too. More updates soon!

Elbony Isambard Pup

Here is a beautiful pup in Elbony Isambards litter by Dr Tornado (Evening Memory - Cajun Black Bird).  These pups were whelped January 29, 2005.

Trip Cancelled!

We just cancelled our trip to Florida for the World Greyhound Racing Federation Conference. I was scheduled to speak on behalf of GlobalGreyhounds, but we were worried about the return flight. As of last night, they predicted landfall on Saturday/Sunday and our tickets were booked Sunday afternoon. Northwest was such a joke -- we could not get ahold of anybody there to try and reschedule our return trip. So Gardner and I didn't feel like bothering with the hassle of return flight cancellations so we decided to forfeit the trip. I hope Wilma does not wreck any havoc on South Florida as that is where a majority of our dogs are racing!

HF's Dreamy Tree (Craigie Whistler - Dreamy Ocean)  ran a nice race at Palm Beach after having trouble at the first turn.  She is a big, strong girl and we look forward to seeing more from her once she gets a bit older:

Hf's Diet Dew (Craigie Whistler - Dreamy Ocean) ran a good 3rd.  This girl is usually a bit short, so we are happy to see her finish in the money.

Oban Laria - Beautiful win

Laria ran a beautiful race in Grade A and motored through the first turn to lead at the first call by 4 lengths.  She won in 30.97 which was a good time:

News from the Farm

We received a few pictures tonight of the pups on the farm.

The only male from the Fuzzys Cannon - Dreamy Ocean litter.  We think this is going to be a great litter because Ocean is by Twilite Dreamon, the dam of WW Time Warp.  Time Warp's sire was Minaki Zeke, the same as Cannon.  Cannon was a fantastic racer at the tough St. Pete circuit.  He won the 2005 Derby Lane Matinee Idol:

Fuzzys Cannon (Minaki Zeke - Greys Betsy Ross) winning the 2005 Matinee Idol.  Cannon's dam, Betsy Ross was a fantastic racer herself.  She won the 1998 Derby Lane Distance Classic and was All-American in 1998.

 

These are the 3 girls in the Fuzzys Cannon - Dreamy Ocean litter.  They are beauties!

This is our prize puppy -- the blue male from the Elbony Isambard - Oban Sirine (Malawis Prince - Greys Front Page) litter.  The litter of 7 was whelped on September 27th.  There are 6 boys and 1 girl in this litter.  Elbony Isambard loves to produce the boys!  We will be looking for a good name for this boy.  We are very excited about this litter, which is Sirine's first.  She is doing fantastic with her pups.

Racing News Update

Oban Ferguson (Craigie Whistler - Dainty Wag)  ran a real nice race out of the 8-box on Saturday night at Flagler.  "Toechi" as he was known on the farm, was the best of the 3 males in this litter in training, but didn't find it inside him once he got to the track.

Oban Laria (Craigie Whistler - Dainty Wag) also ran a very nice race last night after finding trouble out of the boxes.  She was in with some real speed dogs in Grade A at Flagler.  With SAS Magic Megan on her outside and the winner on her inside, she had to make sure she broke sharp to have a chance.   Well -- she didn't and found trouble once the lids opened and had to recover from a poor start in the race.  She benefitted in the turn and managed to pull off a nice 4th:

Oban Eachann is really struggling with the speed in top grade at Flagler.  She doesn't break sharp and finds trouble at the turns.  She will most likely drop a grade:

Allipop Update

thought I would do a little homework into the Lift Up (dam of Allipop) litter that is currently racing.  She was bred to Top Honcho (hopefully to reproduce the performance of Allipop's litter with Javelin King). 

There were two impressive dogs in this litter:

Big Archie (Top Honcho - Lift Up) - who raced open class at Shelbourne Park.  He was shipped to England to race (probably sold) and doesn't look like he's adjusting well.  Before he was shipped, he looked great at Shelbourne Park.  One of his races he clocked a 28.88 over the 525y course: (smokin!)

Strong Side (Top Honcho - Lift Up) - who raced Ireland at Dundalk as a very good sprinter before shipping to England where he currently races Brough Park.  Watch him burn these boxes in an Open Class race (top grade) at Brough Park:
